Ireland's Classic Hits

In honour of the 30th anniversary, Make-A-Wish is celebrating World Wish Day®, the charity's annual donation day, and Ireland’s Classic Hits have partnered with the charity to let its listeners experience a week of festivities celebrating Wish recipients.

From April 18 - 29, Ireland’s Classic HIts will share magical moments of wishes granted to

children living with life-threatening illnesses and this marks a chance for listeners to help Make-A-Wish Ireland raise essential funds to keep those wishes coming.

Colm Hayes from Ireland’s Classic Hits is a long time supporter of the charity, and says, “We were delighted to offer our full support to Make-A-Wish in the form of a media partnership. In doing so we are helping this excellent organisation to celebrate their 30th Anniversary.” He goes on to say, “Over the past year 102 children nationwide, living with serious illnesses, have been the recipients of wishes. These wishes have helped give hope to their families and in many cases have helped greatly in the children’s medical journeys. As we come out of the pandemic we are asking the public to get behind Make-A-Wish by donating what they can online at www.makeawish.ie/donate and by tuning into our shows throughout the week to hear some amazing first hand reports of how a wish has transformed a child's medical journey.”

Susan O’Dwyer, CEO of the Make-A Wish Ireland says, “Make-A-Wish receives no government funding and relies entirely on the generosity of the general public. We are organising a large campaign called “Wish Week” from the 24th April and culminating in Wish Day on the 29th April. During this week we will revisit some of our wish children and their families over the last 30 years through the help of Ireland’s Classic HIts so as you can hear their stories and learn of the impact Make-A-Wish has had on their lives.”
