Wacky and wonderful fundraising ideas!

We love when our supporters do weird and wonderful things to raise funds to help us grant wishes to children battling life threatening illnesses.

Which is why we would like to introduce you to two of our fantastic supporters…

Meet Dan O’Sullivan from Bantry, Co. Cork who shaved off his phenomenal beard for Make-A-Wish last year. Dan who was growing his beard for 27 years gladly gave it up for the cause and raised a staggering €8,683. Dan gained the support of his local community who were glad to sponsor him and attend his eighties event for the night of the big shave.

And the lovely Aisling from Westmeath who chopped off her beautiful long locks to help us grant Wishes. Aisling had decided she wanted to go for short hair.

“My hair at the time almost reached my elbows, I was trying to decide if I’d cut it in one go or if I should slowly shorten it, working my way up through different styles”.

We’re so glad she did as she raised an amazing €546. We look forward to working with Aisling again.

“The make a wish foundation is so fantastic. I want to say thanks for the card I got following the donation, I still have it, and for the newsletters. I had such a positive experience fundraising that I’ll definitely do it again.”

We are so grateful to you both and to all who raise much needed funds to help us create extraordinary moments for children. A haircut, shave or wax is a fantastic way to raise money for Make-A-Wish – the more dramatic the better! Remember your hair will grow back but a child battling life-threatening illness only gets one chance to have their wish come true.

If you have a weird and wonderful way of raising money for Make-A-Wish, just email rachel@makeawish.ie or call 01 2052012 to receive your fundraising pack.
