The Wicklow Way Challenge
Join us on an unforgettable journey across the spectacular Wicklow Way to raise funds and awareness for Make-A-Wish Ireland.
The Route
Day 1 – Marley Park to Crone Woods – 22km
Meet the Make-A-Wish Ireland team at Marley Park and prepare for your hike.
We will then set off, through scenic woodlands, mountain views and valleys, experiencing the natural beauty of Ireland.
We will finish the day at Crone Woods, followed by a short transfer to the Glenview Hotel,
including an overnight stay, dinner and well deserved rest.
Day 2 – Crone Woods to Glendalough – 29km
We depart from Crone Wood the following morning after a quick breakfast.
We will continue along the Wicklow Way, passing some of Wicklow’s most dramatic landscapes,
including sections near Djouce and along the valley as we approach Glendalough.
The Hike finishes at Glendalough in the afternoon, where we will celebrate our achievement together.

Imagine immersing yourself in the scenic nature of Wicklow, all whilst raising vital funds and helping to grant life-changing wishes across the country.
The Wicklow Way combines easy accessibility with a wide variety of scenic experiences, including mountains, upland lakes, steep-sided glacial valleys, fast flowing mountain streams, forests and farmland.
You will spend two days discovering incredible routes that showcase the very best of Wicklow, as well as staying overnight in the fabulous Glenview Hotel.
But what makes this challenge truly special is the people who take part and those you help support through your participation in the Challenge.
A combination of suburban parkland, forest trails, wild and scenic mountain landscape and finally rolling countryside offers a wonderfully varied, 2 day experience for a hill-walker of average fitness.
We recommend that participants wear hiking boots, as well as warm and waterproof clothing as they take part in this challenge.
The route involves moderate to challenging hiking over two days — please ensure you are physically prepared.
Your registration fee includes expert guides along the entire route, your fundraising pack and event t-shirt, overnight accommodation and breakfast at your hotel and transport back from Glendalough to Marley Park after the event.
