There’s something magical about 11:11, isn’t there? That little moment in the day when you catch the clock just right and think, “Quick , make a wish!”
At Make-A-Wish Ireland, we’ve always loved that feeling of hope that comes with wishing , it’s the same feeling our wish children have when they imagine something wonderful and believe it could really come true. So this year, we decided to bring that 11:11 magic to life with our brand-new 11:11 campaign.
Over the past few weeks we been on a bit of a mission: fixing broken clocks around the country and setting them all to 11:11. From the iconic Clery’s clock on O’Connell Street to the Abbey Presbyterian Church, The Long Hall Pub, Waterford Clock Tower & Clock Museum, Hannon and Foley in Cork, the Nurses’ Home at University Hospital Galway, and Christ Church Cathedral in Waterford , these clocks now all tell the same story. A story of community, hope, and the power of a wish.
It’s been incredible to see people stop, notice, and smile when they realise what’s going on. The idea is simple , we want everyone in Ireland to take a moment on November 11th to make a wish and help grant one too my making a donation to Make-A-Wish Ireland.
We’re hoping this will become something special every year, a small but meaningful moment where the whole country comes together to support children living with critical illnesses.
So next time you see 11:11 on your phone, your clock, or even one of our newly restored ones. take that moment. Make a wish and donate.
You never know whose wish you might help come true.
