Aine was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in November 2024. She underwent regular treatment at Crumlin’s children’s hospital, including open heart surgery that year. Thankfully, Aine finished treatment in March 2025.
When she first got sick, watching her favourite show Peppa Pig helped her to feel better. She would often watch episodes on her tablet while she spent time in the hospital. She welcomed her new baby brother around the same time that Mummy Pig had baby Evie on the show! Aine also loves spending time with her family, and her favourite thing to do is play with her new baby brother.
When our volunteers got to learn more about Aine, they learned that she wanted to go on a trip together with her family. We knew that Aine’s wish would have to involve her favourite show, and there was no better place that Peppa Pig World, the world’s first Peppa Pig Theme Park! Aine, along with her brother, baby Daire, and her Mum and Dad all travelled from Knock airport to Peppa Pig World, in Paulton’s Park in Hempshire for an incredible day surrounded by her favourite characters!
Aine and her family got to enjoy everything Peppa Pig World had to offer, including having fun on Daddy Pig’s car ride and enjoying some delicious pancakes at the pancake kitchen. After a fun-filled day, the family stayed at the fabulous @LeanardHotel in Southampton, including enjoying a family meal and even watching a movie together in the hotel cinema!
Mum Nancy told us afterwards “We had such a brilliant trip, i can’t believe it’s all over. Aine had the best time ever. We made brilliant memories, everything was so straightforward, and the taxis were great. We are just settling down for bed now after dinner in the hotel. The cinema was a great job too. Thank you so much for all of your organising it was a trip to remember.”
