Hayleigh was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer and has been undergoing chemotherapy in Crumlin Children’s Hospital since last year. She recently underwent surgery on her kidney, having a Nephrectomy in December. Despite Hayleigh’s difficult medical journey, she has remained incredibly upbeat and active.
When our volunteers Nicole and Kirsty met with Hayleigh, they were blown away by how fun and full of life she was, as they learned more about her. Hayleigh enthusiastically told us that she wished for her very own garden swing set, and that she has wanted one for the longest time! She loved to play on the swings in the nearby park after her chemo treatments, and climbing helps her to feel strong again. She told us that she would have fun playing on the swing set and it would help her to relax.
We contacted our friends at @Just_Fun_Playtowers, who helped to create the perfect custom Playtower just for Hayleigh. They took measurements of the garden back home, and custom built an incredible structure for Hayleigh, equipped with swings, a slide and a tower, with a playhouse on the second floor!
On the day of her wish, we delivered and assembled Hayleigh’s custom swing and playset, along with a special hamper that included cushions, fairy lights and potted plants to make it her own!
Hayleigh’s mum told us afterwards “Thank you so much, you have made Hayleigh so happy!”
