John has over 20 years’ experience in the financial sector. As a member of AIB UK Executive Committee and Chief Risk Officer of AIB UK, he leads the development and strategic direction of the Bank and oversees strategic risk management and regulatory compliance. Prior to AIB UK he held senior roles in AIB Group and at PwC, where he advised clients on banking, regulation, and governance matters.
John is deeply committed to making a difference in the lives of children. Joining the board of Make-A-Wish was motivated by his belief in the transformative power of a wish. Since joining has been inspired by the strength and resilience of the children the charity serves and is committed to ensuring that every eligible child experiences the magic of a wish come true.
John holds qualifications from Smurfit Business School and The Wharton School. He is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland, and is a Member of the Institute of Directors, where he was awarded a distinction in his Diploma in Company direction
