Help us deliver good news to seriously ill children.
Wish Week is an annual celebration of the magical moments created across Ireland for children living with life-threatening illnesses and the charity’s way to raise essential funds to ensure wishes can keep happening.
Wish Week 2023 is from the 24th to the 28th of April, all across Ireland.
To support the day, Make-A-Wish® Ireland is appealing to the public to host their own Wish Week fundraising event or to sign up to become a Wish Week 2023 volunteer to support a nationwide fundraising drive on Wish Day, Friday 28th April 2023.
As well as raising important funds to help Make-A-Wish grant magical wishes to children living with life-threatening illnesses, it raises awareness and acknowledges the bravery of wish children and their families.
Jacobs Wish
This is the story of Jacob, an extraordinary child who sadly passed away just 2 days shy of his 13th birthday. As Jacob touched the lives of everyone he met, we would like to introduce him to you too. Everyone who he met loved him for his character and for his complimentary and friendly nature.
When Jacob was granted a wish following his diagnosis of osteosarcoma he, and everybody around him, knew it would have to involve his biggest loves – Mermaids and princesses. His wish was granted, as Jacob, his family and friends were thrown a magical princess party at the stunning Manor House. Jacob was overcome with happiness throughout the day, as he told his sister Kayleigh: "Guess what?.. I love life, life is amazing!". His day was filled with so much joy and love, and he fully embraced what it was to be a mermaid
Jacob also had a wish to be famous so he could spread his message of positivity and inspire others to be themselves. It would be incredible if you could like and reshare this video of Jacob’s wish so we can reach as many people as possible to ensure that Jacob’s star continues to shine bright and inspire as many people as possible.
Draw A Star
To ensure that Jacob’s star continues to shine bright and inspire as many people as possible, we are inviting you to follow Jacob in drawing a star for Make-A-Wish this Wish Week to help shine a light on our wish children ✨
