Archie’s Wish

To be a Garda Dog Trainer

8-year-old Archie was born with a congenital heart condition, but doesn’t let it slow him down.

He has always been a big fan of the Gardai and police animals. His favourite show on telly is about the London K9 unit, so when he was asked what he wanted his wish to be, it was an easy answer.

With the help of the Kilmainham Garda Station, Archies wish to be a Garda Dog Unit trainer for the day recently came true.

Archie had such an incredible day, meeting so many of the dogs and learning how the Gardai train them. He’s even hoping to bring a few tips home for his own dog! Watch Archie’s Wish come true below!

Together we can make a difference for children.

Make-A-Wish Ireland has one simple aim – to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, to bring hope, strength and happiness.

With your kind support, you can help us achieve that aim.
