Danny’s Wish

To be a Zookeeper

In Waterford, meet Danny—a brave soul who faced Neuroblastoma with a heart full of love for nature and pandas. Despite the battle, his wish to be a zookeeper came true.

With Goomie, his panda companion, Danny explored Dublin Zoo, sharing laughs with molting penguins and taking charge of sea lion feeding. His joy radiated as he encountered red panda, Jinpa. They experienced a connection so deep that Jinpa was adopted in Danny’s name.

Tragically, Danny left us before Christmas, but his legacy lives on. His classmates at Ballymacarbry National School, inspired by his love, visited red pandas in his honor.

This is a story of a boy who found joy in simple moments, leaving behind a legacy of warmth.

Together we can make a difference for children.

Make-A-Wish Ireland has one simple aim – to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, to bring hope, strength and happiness.

With your kind support, you can help us achieve that aim.
