Eli’s brother Sam had his wish granted in 2023, so Eli was aware of the wish journey and the excitement of having a wish.
Eli has been living with a critical condition and in the midst of undergoing multiple tests and waiting for surgery, he was encouraged to apply for a wish. Eli was ecstatic when he learned that he was eligible for a wish, and his face lit up when he thought of the possibilities.
He is very sporty, and loves rugby, but at the moment cannot play sport. When he talked with our wish granting team, his wish was clear, to go to a rugby game, and in particular, to go see Ireland play against England in the Six Nations.
Eli’s wish came true on the opening match of the six nations this year, where Eli and his family spent a sunny morning in Dublin and headed into the Aviva Stadium early to soak in the atmosphere at their pitch-side seats. The atmosphere was electric on the day, and Eli and his family got to see an absolute classic, cheering on Ireland to a 27-22 win from pitch-side.
Eli’s favourite part of his wish experience was walking out into the Aviva Stadium and seeing the rugby team warming up and waving to him as they passed.
