Born with Conditional Toxoplasmosis, a condition that affects brain development and causes frequent seizures, lucy has faced challenges that no child should have to endure. Her father Dean told us that they are incredibly proud of how Lucy has continued to defy all expectations despite her medical diagnosis.
Lucy finds joy in simple moments, such as listening to music, laughing with her siblings, and spending time with her family. Her day-to-day life can be limiting, with frequent medical treatment meaning that for her mum Christine, a family holiday has felt like a distant dream.
However, that dream became a reality last month when Lucy’s wish was granted!
Lucy travelled with her parents, her brothers Charlie and Ronan, and sisters Amelia and Niamh to Center Parcs in Longford Forest for an unforgettable family getaway. For the first time in a long time, the family was able to step away from hospital appointments and daily worries, and simply be together.
Staying in an adaptive lodge made the experience comfortable and stress‑free for Lucy, allowing everyone to relax and fully enjoy the moment. The family got to experience some amazing activities together, including bowling, archery, teddy bear making, pottery painting, and even getting to meet some baby owls!
For Lucy and her family, this wish was about more than just a holiday. It was a chance to spend time together and it brought them happiness and renewed strength when they needed it most.
