Zuzanna is living with a congenital heart condition, undergoing regular treatment at Crumlin Children’s Hospital. She has had four open-heart surgeries in her short life, from the time she was one day old, up until her most recent surgery in November. Her medical journey has meant long days spent in hospitals have replaced play dates and being able to enjoy being a child.
Whilst in the hospital, Zuzanna learned that she could apply for her wish. Being able to dream and imagine the possibilities of what her wish could be helped to give her strength and inspired hope for the future.
When our volunteers Aoife and Tamsin got to know more about Zuzanna, they learned that she loves to dance, play the piano and practise her art. Her room is her favourite place to be, and she loves to have playdates and sleepovers with her friends!
Zuzanna wished to have a bedroom upgrade, telling us that now that she is a teenager, she wants her own space, with a desk for her art, a mirror and some lights.
With the help of Kinderoo Interiors, Zuzanna’s wish recently came true! Her room was transformed into her own personal sanctuary, a space for her to dance, to draw and to dream. Her mum Magdalena told us “Zuzanna absolutely loves her room, and talks about it with everyone she meets!”
Zuzanna’s wish is a powerful reminder of the long-lasting impact of a wish. We hope her new room will continue to inspire her and provide a space for her to grow. A huge thank you to volunteers Aoife and Tamsin, and to Kinderoo Interiors for helping to make Zuzanna’s wish come true!
