This Wish Week, you can help to grant the wishes of critically ill children across the country. By hosting your own fundraising event or challenge in April, you can bring childhood back to critically ill children.
What: We are looking for supporters to complete a fundraising challenge this Wish Week, in order to raise vital funds to help us grant wishes to critically ill children across the country.
When: Wish week takes place between Monday 21st March and Sunday 6th April this year.
How: Decide on your fundraising challenge and pick a date in the first week of April. Fill out the form below to get the support of our community fundraising team. Set up an iDonate fundraising page and share it with your family and friends. Finally, host your event and help to raise funds to grant magical wishes this Wish Week!
Fundraising Resources & Tips
Some good ways to fundraise are:
- Set up your iDonate fundraising page at initiative registration to track your fundraising total.
- Share the page with family, friends, and colleagues through chat apps like WhatsApp and Slack.
- Share the page on social media e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram.
- Take on a challenge e.g. enter a race, learn a new skill, do a trek.
- Organise in-person or virtual events to boost funds e.g. bake sales, quizzes, raffles.
- Utilise a skill of yours and ask people to donate in lieu of payment e.g. if you knit you could sell knitted items for donations, if you are a photographer, you could take professional or family pictures for donations, or if you are a performer, you could hold a charity concert/show.
- Ask your employer to match donate the funds you raise. Many employers in Ireland facilitate this.
You may already know the type of fundraiser you would like to host for Make-A-Wish Ireland, but if you need some help, here are some fun ideas to inspire your fundraising journey and get you started:
Wear Blue Day is our wish week fundraiser, where you and your colleagues wear your favourite blue outfit for the day, and make a small donation to Make-A-Wish Ireland.
A Bake Sale or Bake-Off challenge can raise vital funds in your workplace or community.
Run a raffle either virtually or online. You can also approach local businesses to donate prizes.
Get Active by organising a sponsored walk, run or cycle in your area.
Host a Quiz or Bingo night either in person or virtually with your community.
Take on a personal challenge like a marathon, endurance race or strength challenge.
Having a coffee morning is a great way to catch up with neighbours while raising vital funds.
A charity sports tournament can get your local sports club involved, such as a golf, football or hurling cup.
Or you can get creative and come up with your own unique fundraising event.
