Rian’s Wish

Animal based staycation

Rian age 7 from Galway, is receiving treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). His wish was to have a staycation that would include his family.

With Rian’s love of animals and swimming, he chose Fota Island Resort as the family destination. On their way to Cork the family stopped off at Bunratty Castle taking in the gardens and farm. When they arrived at their lodge at Fota there was a hamper of toys and treats were waiting for them. Rian and his family had lovely family time swimming, having meals together, and not having to think about anything but enjoying themselves, as they have had a tough few years.

The icing on the cake was their visit to our friends Fota Wildlife Park where they met with one of the keepers, and received a VIP behind the scenes experience. They fed Giraffes and Rinos and got to know lots about the animals from their very own keeper.

Mum said “Everything is just fabulous, Fota was class and our guide was brilliant, and so nice. Rian is absolutely loving it”

Together we can make a difference for children.
