TJ’s Wish

To have sensory equipment

Tristan, or TJ, as he is known to his family and friends, is 5 years old and is from Co. Wexford. TJ is living with the condition lissencephaly.

A few months ago, Make-A-Wish Ireland volunteers, Emer and Emma, met with TJ and his mam and dad, on a zoom call for TJ’s virtual wish visit. Wish visits give our Make-A-Wish volunteers and our wish children and their families the opportunity to get to know each other and to discuss all the amazing wish options that Make-A-Wish can grant.

During the wish visit, Emer and Emma had loads of fun getting to know TJ and getting to know all about what he likes and what he loves, and they could not miss that infectious smile of his! Our volunteers found out that TJ loves things that light up and are brightly coloured.

On the call, they also found out what TJ was wishing to have sensory equipment!

We were so delighted to grant TJ’s wish and to include some really great sensory equipment and toys, such as fibre optic lights, an infinity mirror, and a light-up jelly fish tank. When we granted TJ’s wish he was over the moon, as you can see from his huge smile in his photos! TJ’s Mum said, “TJ’s wish has really come true. It has been a fantastic experience”.

Together we can make a difference for children.

Make-A-Wish Ireland has one simple aim – to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, to bring hope, strength and happiness.

With your kind support, you can help us achieve that aim.
